Museumnacht 2010

on august 7th 2010, the main musea in antwerp organised together the museumnacht (night of the musea). The public can visit the musea until 01.00 to see special installation and happenings next to the regular collection. for the museumnacht 2010, ugo dehaes was invited at M HKA to make a special intervention; ugo decided to work with the untitled intallation by Ann-Veronica Janssens. the museumnacht 2010 welcomed over 9.000 visitors on 5 hours time.

hoek

hoek (corner) is a solo performance specially made for BLAUWE PLEKKEN @ ST GILL!ES, a dance-parcours in the city of brussels as part of the PARCOURS D'ARTISTES. In hoek Marc Iglesias and Ugo Dehaes alternate as performers. They dance on a transformed dog-toilet on the corner of Rue de Bosnie and Chaussee de Forest. They work with the atmosphere, energy and emotions of this cross point, and catalyze, transform them into a special dance. more info on BLAUWE PLEKKEN : www.blauweplekken.be

LA FORĘT, Vert Presque Vert

LA FORÊT, Vert PresqueVert est le premier volet d'une trilogie LA FORÊT, LE DESERT ET L’ARGENT.
Depuis deux ans je me suis lancé dans l’écriture et la création de ce triptyque. Il s’agit dans chaque volet de décrire des relations amoureuses en utilisant un de ces trois éléments comme métaphore du contexte qui entoure les sentiments amoureux. Dans le cas de LA FORÊT, c’est la traversée et la survie d’un couple au sein d’un milieu obscur qui est l’axe de la dramaturgie. LE DESERT présente une quête personnelle d’un absolu dans un décor sans limites et L’ARGENT, en cours d’écriture, traitera de l’aspect plus social des sentiments, les transactions, la spéculation, les échanges, le commerce amoureux etc...
Une forêt.
Au premier plan, trois personnages perdus et, en toile de fond, la question de l’identité. Chacun d’eux va, littéralement, se confronter à ses obsessions, à ses fantasmes et à ses angoisses profondes. Ils tentent d’y créer un ordre afin d'organiser leur propre chaos intérieur. À travers cette introspection, sous forme de quête, c'est mon rapport au réel que je questionne. Car, si mes personnages se confrontent à leurs rêves, ceux-ci se révèlent être le reflet des maux qui stigmatisent notre société. À travers cette traversée existentielle, La Forêt traite de la difficulté qu'a l'homme d'aujourd'hui à trouver un accord entre lui-même et ce monde qu’on pose comme réel.
C’est une comédie cauchemardesque. Le spectateur se retrouve face à un objet absurde tantôt comique tantôt angoissant. Il lui est à la fois totalement familier et complètement étranger. La langue renforce le réalisme de la pièce mais tellement d’éléments renvoient aux mensonges et aux rêves, qu’on ne peut que s’y laisser perdre. Une forêt. Les personnages passent ainsi de détails insignifiants à des réflexions métaphysiques et poétiques, peu leur importe, l’essentiel est qu’ils parlent.

THE GREAT PUBLIC SALE OF UNREALIZED BUT BRILLIANT IDEAS

Every artist keeps a collection of ideas somewhere that for one reason or another have never been realised, because they are too expensive, too simple, too complex, too much like something that has been done before, inappropriate in a certain context or so out of this world as an idea, that it would lose all value once it has been realised. For those artistic left-overs, there are two options: either they die a lonely death or the person who came up with them passes them on to someone else who breathes new life into them. This latter is possible thanks to an auction of absurd and utopian ideas. An evening where ideas change owners and the public is very welcome to put in a bid.
