Grafted rehearsals started
Ugo started the rehearsals of Grafted with 4 international couples in cc Berchem.
During the next weeks they will work also at De Pianofabriek, STUK, TAKT Dommelhof to prepare the première on 29+30 april 2013 in STUK.

The poster for GIRLS is ready. Ugo Dehaes and Natacha Pire rework the base-material of WOMEN for eight girls (9-14 years old) in close collaboration with fABULEUS.

Artist in Residence AHK
This autumn 2012, Ugo Dehaes will be the Artist in Residence for the student production (opp) and dance (mdt) in the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.
Together with the students and the teachers he will be working around the theme PROTEST.
In December they will present a dance-production on location in Amsterdam. Stay tuned...

SWOP FESTIVAL 19-27 MAY 2012
Åben Dans is organising a seminar about children’s experience of dance at their launch of the first international dance festival for children and young people SWOP 19-27 May 2012. In the seminar that is moderated by dance critique and performing arts editor Monna Dithmer, Liesbeth Wildschut and Charlotte Svendler Nielsen will both contribute with a presentation of concrete cases that relate to how children experience dance. In addition the seminar includes two performances: the Dutch Keren Levi & Ugo Dehaes’ highly praised Couple-Like #2 and Chalk About #2 by Fresh Tracks Europe participants Christine Devaney (Scotland) and Leandro Kees.

Couple-like#2 wint Zilveren Krekel
COUPLE-LIKE#2, de jongerenproductie van Keren Levi en Ugo Dehaes won de 'Zilveren Krekel' voor meest indrukwekkende productie in Nederland.
Maartje Pasman en Ryan Djojokarso, de jonge dansers van dit stuk, zullen het stuk in september in amsterdam spelen om mee te dingen naar de prestigieuze 'Gouden Krekel'.
WOMEN geselecteerd voor Het Theaterfestival
WOMEN, de laatste voorstelling van Ugo Dehaes is geselecteerd voor Het Theaterfestival 2011.
De jury koos de 10 meest belangwekkende voorstellingen uit 500+ premières van het afgelopen seizoen.
WOMEN zal tijdens het festival op 1 sept. 2011 in het Kaaitheater te Brussel gepresenteerd worden.
tussen oktober en december 2011 speelt WOMEN nog 14 keer doorheen heel Vlaanderen.

on saturday april 16, Keren Levi and Ugo Dehaes will perform couple-like for a last time in Grand Theatre Groningen. We take this occasion to celebrate the 100 shows they performed of this duet since it's creation in 2006!

Couple-Like #2
Op maandag 21 maart om 13.30 uur speelt de nieuwe versie van de voorstelling Couple-Like #2 op het Tweetaktfestival te Utrecht. In deze voorstelling van Keren Levi en Ugo Dehaes gaan twee jonge dansers met elkaar een intieme strijd aan. Vasthouden of loslaten, steunen of laten vallen; is het nu een liefdevolle, lange omhelzing of een eindeloze, uitputtende worsteling? De twee proberen elkaar steeds opnieuw te ontmoeten, maar hun fysieke samenzijn leidt letterlijk tot beklemming. In Nederland is Couple-Like #2 ook nog te zien tijdens Dance Smash; in Houten op 7 april en in Amersfoort op 13 april. Daarnaast speelt de voorstelling op internationale jeugddansfestivals in Wenen, Zürich, Hasselt en Gent.

op 10 maart speelt couple-like#2 voor het eerst in belgië, tijdens het krokusfestival in hasselt.
deze nieuwe versie werd gecreëerd voor jonge dansers en een jong publiek, maar iedereen die van couple-like genoot zal ook deze versie weer helemaal zien zitten!

FORCES in amsterdam
on feb 2nd we present FORCES at de brakke grond in amsterdam.
in this special edition ugo takes on the challenge to dance each scene, accompanied by his fellow dancers.

Rehearsals WOMEN
On january 10 ugo started the rehearsals of WOMEN.
for the first three weeks he works with the 8 dancers in STUK, leuven.
rehearsals continue until the premiere on april 6th.

ugo bewoog langzaam gedurende meer dan vijf uur, terwijl het publiek hem bedekte met stenen van de ann-veronic janssen installatie.

Il s'agit d'un couple (A et B) qui est perdu dans une forêt. Ils tournent en rond. Ils traversent des épreuves et se retrouvent dans des situations traditionnelles de l'imaginaire lié à la forêt (univers des contes, des films d'horreur, de l'histoire de l'art, de la psychanalyse, etc...) Une troisième personne (C) est présente. Elle apparaît ponctuellement, de manière onirique, comme la narratrice de leur aventures, porteuse d'une parole analytique.
A est en proie au doute et se demande si cette forêt est réelle, est-ce une image virtuelle faite sur Photoshop, les sons que l'on entend ne sont ils pas préenregistrés, ou bien encore ne seraient-ils pas dans une sorte de « purgatoire » ?
B est en proie à des cauchemars morbides qui lui font redouter le moment de s'endormir. Elle semble, d'ailleurs, plus intéressée par sa situation dans ses rêves que par le fait de sortir réellement de la forêt.
C, elle, est une artiste, tour à tour, elle nous raconte des histoires, nous parle de son oeuvre et tente de créer des ponts entre l'art et la vie.
Au fur et à mesure, des éléments nous sont donnés sur ce qui s'est peut-être passé entre deux scènes. S'agit-il de rêves, de cauchemars, de scénarii de film, de légendes, on ne sait pas vraiment et la vérité reste cantonnée dans le non-dit.

na een halve dag in de spoedgevallen besloten wij de voorstelling die avond in kortrijk af te zeggen.
wij verontschuldigen ons voor al het ongemak, en doen ons best om de voorstelling op een andere datum dit jaar naar kortrijk te brengen.
